The Outdoor Learning Store has announced a NEW Indigenous Learning Bundle: Animals Care for Mother Earth. And don’t forget, a portion of your purchase comes back to the Wyoming Alliance for Environmental Education.
This bundle was designed, written and curated by Indigenous author, Terri Mack (Da’naxda’xw Awaetlala), and Indigenous author and artist, Bill Helin (Tlingit, Tsimshian).
It can be use to teach—through storytelling—the value of personal strengths and community supports. It offers six contemporary, interrelated stories and supporting resources for teachers. In the first story, animals cooperate to clean up a polluted pond. In subsequent stories, they care for each other in the aftermath of the pollution problem, demonstrating strength of character and social responsibility.
It also provides many opportunities to extend the learning to other curriculum areas, including science, math, reading, writing, social studies, and art.
This bundle includes:
- Animals Care for Mother Earth – Indigenous Learning Book
- Indigenous Finger Puppet Animal Set
- Indigenous Rubber Stamp Animal Collection
- Indigenous Plants Memory Matching Cards
- All comes in a handy Drawstring Bag!
You can also register to join Indigenous author and artist, Bill Helin, for a FREE 60 min virtual workshop on this resource!
